Welcome to the official blog for the Alexandria Mentoring Partnership in Alexandria, Virginia! The purpose of this blog is two fold: inspire and be inspired.


For those of you who are already mentors, you already know both the joys as well as the challenges of this important role. Share your moments: the"aha!"'s,the"hahaha!"'s, as well as the "oh no!"'s.Use this forum as your virtual mentor community: find the courage you might need to keep going or encourage others with your own experiences. Through one another's anecdotes, videos, and photos - we can more deeply connect in order to effectively empower our youth!

For those of you who want to be a mentor, WELCOME! This forum is a place to learn more about the mentoring experience. Please take some time to read the posts, watch a couple of videos, or peruse the pictures. The hope is that you will find this blog provides you with a realistic perspective on mentoring (both the challenges and the victories) as well as a clear way on how you can become involved in the life of a child this year.

Untouchables Open House (3/18)



After 21 years of successful mentoring, the Untouchables continues to help young men of color in the City of Alexandria to grow and develop into the professionals, leaders and family men of tomorrow. Come meet the members and the mentors and learn about this outstanding program this Thursday, March 18 from 7 - 9pm at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street in Alexandria.
